According to a recent report completed by Kiplinger, St. George is #11 in their list of the Top 20 Smart Places to Live in the country! The survey was completed by readers of Kiplinger’s, who were asked to choose the most important factors when considering a place to live. They chose cost of living and cost of housing. Quality health care and a low crime rate also rated highly.
In the database developed by the authors, other key criteria used were weather, education, cultural amenities, and transportation. Also included was economic vitality, and they gave more weight to communities with well-diversified economies they felt are good places to start or expand a business. Finally, quality of life, as measured by cultural and recreational activities, completed the score.

Population growth: 22.3%
Median home price: $209,400
1-year home price change: 18.5%
Cost of living index: 89
